She is Fire is : 26 Women, 26 Stories, 26 Photoshoots.

This project is about the reclaiming of the self.

There is a kind of woman whose presence feels like heat. You see it in her eyes before she ever speaks. You feel it in the way she takes up space, even when she’s trying not to.

She carries a spark that has survived storms, expectations, trauma, reinvention, and the weight of other people’s stories.That spark is ancient. It’s instinct. It’s intuition. It’s the wildness she was born with before the world taught her to shrink, to mask, to behave, to be “easier.

”She Is Fire is a project about feeding that spark until it becomes a flame again.This work is for the women—cis and trans—whose lives have been anything but simple. The ones with tattoos that map their history. The ones who grew up too fast. The ones who feel everything too deeply. The neurospicy, the black sheep, the beautifully unconventional souls who never quite fit the mould and stopped pretending they wanted to.   It's for the women who have survived things they rarely speak about. The ones who think their strength is “nothing special” because they were too busy surviving to notice how extraordinary they were. 

For twenty‑five years, I’ve photographed women like this. I’ve heard stories that could break your heart and rebuild it in the same breath. I’ve watched women step into the studio carrying decades of armour—and leave with something softer, stronger, more honest. I’ve seen healing happen in real time. I’ve seen women reclaim their bodies, their narratives, their power.This project isn’t about the trauma they endured. It’s about the woman they became because of it.

Confidence isn’t a fixed state. It’s a muscle. It grows when you feel safe. It expands when you’re seen. It strengthens when you choose yourself, even in small ways. And when a woman feels truly safe enough to be fully herself—unfiltered, unedited, unmasked—her fire becomes something magnetic. Something transformative. Something unstoppable.

In a world obsessed with filters, fillers, AI perfection, and sameness, we are losing sight of what makes us truly beautiful: our realness, our vulnerability, our scars, our stories, our self‑expression.She Is Fire is a celebration of that realness. It’s about creativity, light, elemental energy, and the alchemy that happens when a woman steps into her own truth. It’s about reclaiming the body as a home, not a battleground. It’s about honouring the journey, not hiding it. It’s about the quiet, fierce, breathtaking power of authenticity.The world is chaotic, unpredictable, and ever‑changing. But every woman carries a flame that can survive it. This project is about tending that flame—until she remembers she was fire all along.

I am looking for 26 women of all ages, shapes and sizes to let me photograph them over the next few months.
